Born in Paris, St. Genevieve was a nun who witnessed her hometown being attacked by the Franks. She compromised her safety to find food and shelter for children. When the threat of Attila the Hun arrived, Paris was spared due to her presence.
2. St. Blaise, Patron Saint of Throat Ailments

A bishop and a martyr, St. Blaise cared for wild animals and was probably one of the earliest proponents of animal rights! He also helped a woman by saving the life of her son who had been choking on bone.
3. St. Denis, Patron Saint of Headaches

A martyr, the legend of St. Denis persisted through stories of his body carrying his head away from his execution after he had been beheaded. No wonder he became this sort of patron saint!
